Melanie graduated early from Brighton High School and, while the rest of us were walking at the E Center, she was attending BYU-Idaho. She got her Bachelor Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Child and Family Studies. She hopes to go back to school some day and get her Master's Degree to become a Marriage and Family Counselor. While at BYU-Idaho, Melanie met her husband, Mark Maurer. They have been married for almost eight years and have two girls; Hailey (5) and Hanna (2). She stays home with her daughters in Philadelphia, PA where they have lived for the past 5 1/2 years while her husband attended podiatry school, and is now doing his residency. Although it is difficult living so far away from her family and friends, she loves being so close to New York City, Washington DC, and the beach.
