Bengal Bio: Heather Gustaveson Jenson

Heather has not slowed down since graduating from BHS. After high school, she headed South to Dixie State College with scholarships in Flute, Voice, Academics and a full scholarship on the Student Government with the DSC Ambassadors. While attending there, Heather was also the Rebel Crew President, played Principal Flute and Piccolo in the Southwest Symphony and was in the DSC Homecoming Royalty. Heather also attended a Semester in BYU Hawaii and learned to surf and hula.

Heather waited for her missionary Trevor (and High School sweetheart her Senior year). After returning from his mission to India, they were married just 5 months later in March of 2003 in the Salt Lake Temple. As Newlyweds they headed back to BYU Hawaii, and then completed more schooling at Utah Valley University. Heather transferred her credits and graduated from Dixie State in 2005 with her Associates of Arts Degree while Trevor Graduated the following year from UVU as a Business major and now works in the Hotel Industry.

While attending UVU Heather worked as the Fashion Team Director and Special Events Coordinator for Allyse’s Bridal and loved her job coordinating fashion shows and working with brides. She also got to go to China with the company and help model and design. She began a career in fitness and is a Certified AFAA Instructor in several different formats of group fitness classes and teaches Bootcamp, Turbokick, Hip-Hop, Yoga and Pilates.

Eventually Trevor and Heather wanted to begin their family and were blessed with their first child Emma in January of 2007. She is now 4 and has a ton of energy, loves to run and be active just like her mom. They eventually moved back to St. George and bought a home in Coral Canyon to be close to family. They were also blessed with a son Austin in May of 2010. He is now 9 months old, a total sweetheart, and is crawling everywhere! They also have a Jack Russell Terrier named Bella who is a huge part of the family as well.

Heather loves being a stay at home mom but also stays busy teaching fitness and dance classes at various gyms in St. George. She has run multiple marathons, half marathons, relay races and triathlon’s. She also teaches flute and guitar lessons from home and has a small business making and selling hair accessories on ETSY with her sister.
